Abeja (pronounced ‘Ah-bay-ha’) means bee in Spanish and represents the connection we want to create between Manchester and Spain. Abeja is not only famously the Mancunian symbol; it represents the importance of bees as pollinators for much of the food we eat; bees are exemplary social organisations in the animal kingdom; have inspired many artists throughout history. In essence, they represent many of the values we want to “pollinate” in our bar!. Our ambition is to create a space where people can enjoy art exhibitions and cultural activities while they socialize in a relaxed atmosphere that invites to food sharing experiences from Andalucía cuisine.
